At the birth of the printing press, there was an idea. That there be an engine for mass-production of media. A writer writes and the printer prints. Now a vehicle to bring together art into a publication, to offer communal thought-space in which the sheer force of zeitgeist can materialize through the page. Not through some predictive mapping of trends, but through meticulous, coordinated curation.

Today art is pop culture: like a dead fly floating in a soup of contemporaneity until it finally sinks, art waits to be picked from the surface. It doesn’t have to be this way. If measures are taken on the front-end to keep costs low and quality high, a loosely organized publication can both well-compensate artists and attract artisan talent with a sturdy flat rate.
